I'm a very amateur photographer in my free time.
(That is… I'm lucky to go to photo-worthy places. The picture above is the Matterhorn mountain, which is impossibly photogenic.)
Here are some things about me.
Linguistics instructor:
As I worked on my MA at UNC, I was asked by the department to teach an undergraduate Linguistics course. I continue to use pieces of the curriculum I developed in other speaking engagements.
Spanish teacher:
My first job out of grad school was teaching Spanish. Being a public school educator rids you of all future embarrassment from public speaking. The children are the future, but they're a picky audience.
Researcher extraordinaire:
I love research. I'll take on research tasks whenever I can, professionally and personally. I am the friend who will make you an Excel spreadsheet if you need help deciding which couch is the best on the market.
Screen-break connoisseur:
When I'm not working, you'll likely find me trying a new recipe or catching up on the latest episode of my favorite podcast. I also live near a nature preserve, where I volunteer whenever I can.
